Several years ago, winemaker Mica Raas and colleague Paul Haley developed the concept of Americana wines while traveling in Europe. They were considering why so many foreign nationals were attracted to the idea of America and being American. The concept of producing wines with labeled images that celebrate American culture was born. The idea slumbered until the pair met their third partner in 2022, Elizabeth Patterson, an owner of a winery in El Dorado County, California. Elizabeth offered up existing wines to create the blends and her vineyards for the launch of the Americana wine brands.
